Vanishing Point are an AOR band and their debut debut was only released in their home country Australia.
In the beginning of 2001, the second CD 'Tangled In Dream' gets distributed worldwide. But their first
contact with Europe was the 2000 edition of the Wacken Open Air. Personally this music isn't too much
up to my taste, as it's a a mixture of Rock music combined with atmospheric and progressive melody
lines. Most of the songs are powerful and uptempo like, some are real Prog hymns like 'Bring On The
Rain' or 'Never Walk Away'. The CD is also containing slower tracks like 'The Real You' which is also
containing some acoustic parts. Difficult for me to bear. 'Dancing With The Devil' an an experimental,
but very quiet song. The CD is also containing a hidden bonus track, a cover version of Pink Floyd's
'On The Turning Away'. I have the impression that Vanishing Point are really a good Rock band balancing
between Prog elements and AOR, but I don't listen too much to that music to feel able to judge.
