Immortal Souls is the leading death metal label from Slovakia, and so it's no big surprise
that their bands all reach a quality level that doesn't need to hide between the ones of bands
coming from the so-called big scenes. Typhoid just released their debut album, and as I don't
have much information about the band (look out for yourself at their official
homepage) I will just talk about their
music. Although the band is just a three-piece, they play very fat sounding death metal with
a definite take-no-prisoners attitude. Without caring much for trends, Typhoid's music
is sull of killer riffs, growling vocals and occasionnally even some melodic element, but the
latter are met very rarely only. The very professional production and the ultra-tight
musical skills put this record on the same quality level as bands like Krabathor or Cannibal
Corpse, but I decline from giving a higher rating because of the short playing time (not that
important though) but mostly because of lacking originality. But as this was their debut, I bet
there's a lot promised for the future. A band to be reckoned with in the near future. You can contact their record label Immortal Souls by their homepage. |
