Three years after the release of their first 7" (A.F.S.D.),
Toxkäpp (which means The
Stubborn Ones) from Luxemburg have finally released their first CD called 'Skamöidi', a
great play on words in their national language which is a combination of the words Ska and noise.
This album is a kind of best of as all songs were recorded between 1995 and 1999. The earlier
songs go more into straight Punk but finally they changed into a more diversified Ska Punk band.
As the songs were recorded over a period of four years, you can hear three different saxophone
players on this CD. Another unique aspect of the Toxkäpp is that they are only singing in the
Luxemburgian language. 'Skamöidi', which has a cool hardpaper layout, does not only contain
a booklet with all the lyrics, but also English explanations of them so that every interested fan
may understand what they are singing about. You have to like Ska to like the Toxkäpp. I like
both and think that their first CD is the ideal party music. For more information, you can send an e-mail to Toxkäpp. They'll tell you how you may order the CD for 500 LUF. Or just write to: Patrick Kleinbauer, 98 rue de Strasbourg, L-2560 Luxembourg |
