Tiger Fernandez are a newcomber band from Luxemburg, but it's members have already played in lots of other bands before. So the band is containing musicians of Verbal and d'Rotzbouwen. The music they play can be described as Noise Rock or Post Rock. The opener 'Not That Deep' is definitely influenced by Motorpsycho, one of Europe's best Noise bands. It's my favourite track on the CD and could be a hit single. But Tiger Fernandez also like not to push the speed level too hard and slower songs like 'The Model' or the very long one 'I Used To Wear Pyjamas' (great noisy chaotic ending) show their interest in bands like Mogwai or My Bloody Valentine. 'Waterfall' is again a more melodic Noise song, close to Sonic Youth. The EP finds an end with 'Talebuilder', a very soft and quiet song. The songs on the CD are already excellent, but live on stage, Tiger Fernandez are even far better. Don't try to miss their next gig! |
