Thursday from New Brunswick, NJ have the talents to become the new sensation in Emo Core. After their first DIY release in 1998, Victory Records has new released their second full-length-CD which is called 'Full Collapse'. The first impressing thing on this CD is how the aggressive vocals are able to co-habit in perfect harmony with the melodic ones. The instrumentation of the different song isn't bad, either. Listen to crunchy melancholic guitar riffs, charming bass lines or multifaceted drum rhythms. All this is causing lots of variations in the songs. Some are sounding relaxing, even slightly commercial (A Hole In The World, Paris In Flames), others are quite extreme (Cross Out The Eyes). It's only astonishing what such a young band has achieved in this early stage. Seldom before has Emo Core sounded such authentic. Band and music seem to have become one. As this CD is really containing no weak points, I just don't have another possibility than giving the highest note.
