Some years ago, the fanzine DisAgreement already got a demo tape by THORSHAMMER . As I can remember, this was a quite good Thrash Metal recording. Meanwhile the band has released a CD called 'Heimsuchung'. My impression after having listened to three songs is that THORSHAMMER still have their roots in Thrash Metal. The musical structures are quite complicated and there are sure parallels to Coroner from Switzerland, one of Europe's best Thrash bands ever. The vocals are quite rough and threatening and surely not to everyone's taste, but they fit well into the unusual songs and sounds which also contains synthesizers and samples what is rare in Thrash Metal. All lyrics are in German and it is even possible to understand most parts of them. My personal fave on this promo is the title track which shows lots of variations in speed and contains interesting bizarre sounds. I just don't see any relationship between the album title and its cover. |
