Orth are an extremely brutal German Death Metal band that has just released its third CD called 'Feed The Flames'. Not bad at all, the superb sound and the high class instrumentation can convince at once. Especially the rhythm section is working on highest speed and as exactly as a Swiss clockwork. But there are also some unusual songs for a Death Metal band on this CD: 'From Outer Space' is a midtempo song and 'Mental Defekt' is a quite groovy track. The growl vocals (mostly one, sometimes two singers) are well arranged and don't sound annoying after a short listening. Quite interesting is also the fact that some lyrics are in English and some in German. There are no fantasy lyrics, but Orth care about their political surroundings. So 'Auf dem rechten Auge blind' is an accusation of fascism. Very funny is the last track which is a strange cover version of Frank Zappa's 'Bobby Brown'. This record really blasts you away, so don't hesitate to listen to a promising Death Metal act. |
