Although 'Winter' is the debut album by Nozzle, some of the musicians have already collected lots of experience in other bands. David Blomberg (g/v) and James David (d) are members from New Model Army, too. The other two members Mat Round (b) and Danny Vuckovic (g) are just Nozzle musicians. Nevertheless, you can't compare Nozzle to the New Model Army. The only thing that both bands have in common is that they are playing Rock music. But the main difference is that the music played by Nozzle doesn't contain any Folk parts. Nozzle prefer to play Neil Young like Rock ballads, but combined with lots of noise and distortions. Some songs like 'This Time' or 'She Lives For The Sun' really rock, but they are already the few highlights on this CD. Even if all men know how to play their instruments and if the sound is excellent, the problem is the songwriting which doesn't contain enough depth for my taste. Many songs like 'Perfect World' or 'Nothing Will Change' as they have been written for being played on rotation on various radio stations. I think that Nozzle would sound better if they tried to play a harder kind of Rock music. |
