Misteltein are a Swedish Black Metal band which got formed in 1996 and released their first CD 'Rape In Nature' in late 2000. On the one hand, the band presents itself from a very agressive, violent and hateful side. On the other hand, the songs are also melodic and have quite catchy parts. Atmospheric keyboards, a fast and brutal drum play and uncredible roars are trademarks of Misteltein and give the band a Dimmu Borgir or Cradle Of Filth like touch. You also may use the mean description Girlie Black Metal. Misteltein definitely belong to the upper class of Black Metal bands, but they don't reach the same level as Borknagar, Immolation, Ancient or Empire yet. But even if they play their music so good, they are not the first bands to play like that. I don't want to say that Misteltein aren't original at all, but their music is still showing a lack of recognition. But it's an excellent debut anyway. |
