Mictlan are a quite new Death Metal band from Luxemburg and have just released their first
4 track CD EP. As the members of the band are still quite young, it's no great suprise that
they can't bring any new elements into Death Metal music. Rough and sick vocals, slow and
deep tuned guitars are elements you can find in many other Death Metal bands. But this shouldn't
mean that their songs are of a lower quality. I prefer 'Emotions' which shows an excellent
combination of faster and slower parts and 'Stop It', a song composed of quite complicated riffs.
The four songs have been recorded at the Cleanstate studios and the sound is OK. Although
Mictlan don't seem to have already found their own musical style, this CD is a promising step
for a career of a still young band. And don't forget that the CD is sold for only 200 LUF.
