Lecitone belong to the well
promising newcomers in Luxemburg. The band was founded in 1998 by Gianni Trono who was already
known as drummer of various bands (Intox, Verbal Kint, Zodiac, Blind Heads). Two years later,
he got joined by Sim Ramos who was singer in various bands (Verbal Kint, Tiger Fernandez, Soap).
What's very strange about Lecitone is that both members are sharing drums and guitar. This is
no problem because both know to play these instruments and both have in common that they like
to write wonderful melodic songs. After having listened twice to 'Un voyage en mongolfière',
the song won't go out of your mind so easily. Most songs are pure instrumental tracks, varying
between different styles like Post Rock, Noise or melodic Emocore. I wonder why there are only
vocals on 'Borderline' because Sim is one of the best singers in Luxemburg. One of my favourite
tracks is 'Walkin' Like Charlie C' where Lecitone combine traffic samples with their music.
'Mood M-69' is another very interesting and experimental song containing Moog and Djembé.
The CD is just great, but as Lecitone is only containing two members, it's not possible for
them to be as good live on stage.
