Lady Luck are a band from New York City, but they don't have too much in common with New York Hardcore. Nevertheless, the bass player is Roger Miret, former singer of Agnostic Front. Another band member and vocalist is his wife Denise Miret, former singer of bands like Puppet Show, Stone Boy and Aura. As she has a perfectly harmonic voice which draws some parallels to Debbie Harry, it's obvious that Lady Luck can't be a too extreme band. On their second CD called 'Life In Between', Lady Luck offer a big musical repertoire containing elements like Emo, Pop, melodic Punk and some Indie. Although each song is still containing quite noisy guitars, this is definitely a Pop album, full of beautiful melodies and a phenomenous voice. Some songs like 'Too Real', 'What I'm Thinking' or 'Until Tomorrow' are real musical Pop pearls. With that contemporary sounding music, Lady Luck may be able to reach a big and vast audience. |
