Krabathor are THE most important death metal band from Eastern Europe, and since their third
album "Lies" which had been released by Morbid Records in 1995, this powerful
three-piece are also very popular worldwide. Although it would be high time for a regular
new album, this new double-CD continues no new material at all. Instead it features the first
two CDs that had only been released in the Czech Republic. "Only Our Death Is Welcome"
was their debut in 1992, and it shows well that Krabathor used to be more melodic at that
time, just listen to songs like 'Preparing Your End' or 'Madness Of Dark Shadows'. The
follow-up "Cool Mortification" was a cool mix between European death metal roots
and Slayer-like thrash elements, with some psychedelic sound elements ('Faces Under The Ice').
It's hard to decide which CD is Krabathor's best, because they have evolved a lot over the
years, but that's what is making every single album of this gifted band a very special treat.
This double-CD is in fact very essential stuff, and shouldn't be missed by any collector
of really classic death metal stuff. Highest rating for a re-release that was really
needed.
