Groinchurm come from South Africa and they play first class Grindcore, free from any Ethno influences. Even if such bands normally come from Europe, the USA or Japan, Groinchurn knew already on their last CD 'Fink' how to break this tradition. But a thing that differences Groinchurn from most Grindcore bands is their punkish attitude which gives the songs a melodic touch. Most people wouldn't call it like that as the songs are played at a blasting speed, but good ears will hear out fine structures, especially while listening to the guitar play. An excellent singer and the use of various spoken samples from movies give the CD a few more interesting aspects. Although the album is very extreme, listening several times to it brings you each time new discoveries. The only disappointing fact are seven minutes of silence at the end of the last song. |
