Def Dump can be featured among the most popular
bands from Luxemburg. All there records released before got great reviews and when they are playing
live, there are often several hundred people at their concerts. Now they have released their fourth
CD called 'David Versus Corporate Society', a title which is a metaphor for the fight of the outsiders
versus the conformed majority, a situation well fitting to Def Dump. This CD is the logical consequence
of its predecessor 'Circle's Closing', but they have developped even further. To my ears, the different
songs have become far more complexe. The song structures are on the highest technical level, guiding
Def Dump into an extreme emotional direction. The use of screams and melodic vocals is reminding of
bands like Snapcase or the recently discovered Waterdown, but Def Dump are playing far more extreme.
The fact of being so aggressive and not losing oneself in a simple noise orgy of bad sound is compareless.
Maybe this is due to the fact that Def Dump have worked together with producer Nico Poschke for the
third time in a row, although he came this time to Luxemburg to do his job. This great CD is available
for only 400 LUF in most Luxemburgian record shops or may be ordered at the band's homepage.
